Sashiko Stitching Day

Join us for a relaxing day devoted to the meditative art of sashiko stitching.

Sashiko is a centuries-old Japanese embroidery technique known for its elegant white-on-indigo patterns and rhythmic, meditative stitching. Originally developed to reinforce and mend clothing, sashiko has evolved into a decorative art form that brings texture, meaning and timeless charm to hand crafted projects.

This relaxed, inspiring workshop is designed for all skill levels from beginner to experienced stitcher. No advanced skills or special tools required—just a desire to slow down, stitch mindfully and enjoy the process.

Learn traditional sashiko stitching techniques while creating your own beautiful piece to continue stitching at home. Our Tidal Pool Pre-printed Sashiko Panel (indigo or cream), sashiko threads and a needle are included in workshop cost.  NO ADDITIONAL SUPPLIES REQUIRED - just a small pair of scissors and your reading glasses!

Workshop Details

• Date: Wednesday 25 March 2026
• Time: 9:30am – 3:00pm
• Location: MyHorizon Event Centre, 1-15A Runnymede Road, Capalaba
• Included: Morning Tea, Afternoon Tea, Light Lunch, continuous tea/coffee/water
• Kit: Tidal Pools Pre-Printed Sashiko Panel (indigo or cream), 1 x 100m sashiko thread, 1 x 20m sashiko thread, a sashiko needle and some surprise goodies!

Terms & Conditions:

• Payment must be made in full 14 days prior to the workshop. A payment plan can be arranged if requested. Payment can be made in full at the time of booking or you can pay a deposit to secure your place. An invoice will be issued for the balance.
• No refunds on cancellations made within 14 days of the workshop however you are welcome to transfer the booking to another person. 
• All cancellations made outside the 14 day cutoff, can be transferred to another event, converted to a gift card or refunded.  Refunds will attract a small fee (approx. 2 %) to cover the bank charges incurred processing the initial payments. 
• By participating in this workshop, you agree that any photos or videos taken during sessions may be used for marketing and promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in promotional materials, please inform us before the session begins.
• Indigo Niche is not liable for any injuries, damages, or losses incurred during participation in activities or events.
• We reserve the right to cancel this workshop due to illness, insufficient bookings or any other unavoidable reason.
• Should the workshop be cancelled by Indigo Niche for any reason, all funds will be refunded, converted to a gift card or can be transferred to another event.
