Kasanemasusashi (layered masu stitching) is a traditional Japanese sashiko pattern characterised by overlapping or nested squares (known as masu). It is often used to represent "increasing" or "improving" prosperity, continuous progress, and good fortune.
Create stunning patterns with this precision-cut 4" sashiko template.
The unique marking system on our Indigo Niche Templates allows you to easily mark fabric for stitching.
Our Linked Squares Sashiko Template is available in 2 different materials:
Mylar:
Acrylic: Our Acrylic Templates are made of 2 millimetre thick, transparent acrylic material, similar to patchwork rulers. These templates are quite solid and do not have any movement or flex to them. Due to this they are a little more delicate and if dropped could crack. If using our acrylic material template a Sewline or Bohin ceramic pencil is best as they fit perfectly through the very fine stitch marking cut outs in the template.
