Boro Workshop (via Zoom)

Join us for a relaxing 2 part workshop via Zoom and learn the meditative art of Boro and create this functional pouch (finished size approx. 9" x 7 1/2")

Boro stitching was originally used to reinforce weak fabric, add warmth through quilted layers, or create decorative patterns on clothing. It was used to extend the life of the garments by patching them.

This relaxed, inspiring workshop is designed for all skill levels from beginner to experienced stitcher. No advanced skills or special tools required—just a desire to slow down, stitch mindfully and enjoy the process.

Learn traditional stitching techniques while creating your own beautiful piece via Zoom in the comfort of your own home.  Connect with us and other students in real time in a supportive and positive environment.

Cotton fabrics, sashiko threads and a needle are included in workshop cost.  A sewing machine can be used to complete the bag construction but it can be completed by hand if desired.

A video link of the workshop will be supplied after the event.  This video will be available for 14 days after the workshop is held.

Workshop Details

• Date:  Friday 17th and 24th July, 2026.
• Time: 10:00am – 11:30am (Brisbane time)
• Location: via Zoom
• Includes: Cotton fabric to complete the pouch (base fabric, boro fabrics and lining),  2 x 20m sashiko thread, a sashiko needle and 3 hours of tuition.

• Workshop is via Zoom and the timezone stated is for Brisbane, Australia. Please take this into account to ensure the time of the workshop are suitable for your timezone.
• Kit will be shipped 7 days prior to the workshop via Australia Post.  The Zoom link will be email the day before the workshop.
• Payment must be made at the time of booking.
• No refunds or cancellations possible after the kit has been shipped.
  
• A video link of the workshop will be provided to all registered students. This video will be available for 14 days following the workshop.
• By participating in this workshop, you agree that any photos or videos taken during sessions may be used for marketing and promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear in promotional materials, please inform us before the session begins.
• Free shipping of your kit is included within Australia.  Shipping for international students is calculated at checkout.  
• We reserve the right to cancel this workshop due to illness, insufficient bookings or any other unavoidable reason.
• Should the workshop be cancelled by Indigo Niche for any reason, all funds will be refunded, converted to a gift card or can be transferred to another event.
