Indigo Niche is a Web-Store working out of the beautiful city of Brisbane, Australia. Owners Sue Howie and Colleen Shepherd specialise in Japanese Textiles and Aboriginal fabrics.
Sue and Colleen have been quilting for approximately 10 years and decided to share their love of Japanese and Aboriginal fabrics with other quilters by starting their own Web-Store.
Sue - has been involved in a number of crafts over the years such as pottery, lead lighting and tapestry. It all started for Sue when she and a friend decided they were going to make a quilt.
That particular quilt did take a while to finish but the passion grew and many quilts later she started attending classes by a highly respected teacher of Japanese techniques.
From that her love of Japanese textiles grew. Sue still loves to create inspiring quilts using the different textures and colours that only Japanese textiles can provide.
Colleen - As a ballroom dancer, Colleen has been involved with textiles for over 30 years. However approximately 10 years ago she was asked by her sister Sue to go to a quilting class. From the very first class Colleen was hooked and she has been quilting ever since.
Colleen's particular interest in Japanese textiles has developed because of the quality and variety it provides. Every time she uses these beautiful fabrics, it results in not only a quilt but a true work of art.
